Q:	What is the procedure to get a marriage license?
A:	A couple must file for the marriage license together, in person, at the City Clerk's Office. The couple must show a picture ID.  A driver's license, passport, state or work ID are just some examples. There is a three-day waiting period before you can obtain the marriage license starting with the next day from the file date (weekends count). Blood test are no longer needed in the state of Massachusetts.   The fee is $40.00 to file; this includes a certified copy of the license following the completion of license by the officiant and the filing of same after the ceremony.
