Our First Time Homebuyer Program offers downpayment and/or closing cost assistance to income* qualified buyers. You may be eligible for a loan up to $10,000 depending on your financial need, purchase price and lending requirements. This award is a deferred loan paid back at the time of rental, sale, transfer of title or when the property is no longer your principle place of residence.   SOFT SECOND and MHFA loans can also be applied for and used in conjunction with HOME and CDBG Assistance programs.

The City of Gloucester is very excited to offer this program which has been a huge success having assisted over 250 new homeowners to date! For information regarding the programs, please contact Sandy Shea, Project Manager, at the Grants Office, 3 Pond Road, Gloucester, MA 01930.
