The Gloucester Historical Commission was established under M.G.L. Chapter 40, Section 8D.

GHC is comprised of between three and seven members (all volunteers) who are appointed by the Mayor for a three year term, which may be renewed.

The mission of the Gloucester Historical Commission is to preserve, protect and develop public awareness of Gloucester's historical assets.

GHC meets the second Wednesday of each month, at 7:00 PM. The meetings are always open to the public.
