2007 Preservation Awards
In 2007, the Gloucester Historical Commission granted awards in a number of categories.
 Organization Awards Cape Pond Ice For their efforts to preserve the history of the ice industry in Gloucester and on the North Shore. Special recognition goes to Scott Memhardt and Steve Scatterday.

 Cape Ann Housing Opportunity For their efforst in the successful adaptive re-use of LePages Glue Factory - from factory to housing. Special recognition goes to Nancy Schwoyer for leading the effort.

 Individual Awards Richard and Pamela Loomis for the restoration of 2 Rose Lane.

Victoria Williams for the restoration of 53 Langsford Street painted by George Staboulis of George for Restoration & Painting.

Robert Clarke and Deborah Millar for the restoration of their doorway at 301 Washington St. Special recognition to Tony Bloxham, a third generation carpenter from County Cork, Ireland who did the work. (No Photo)
Rick Hemeon and Brent Moir for the faithful recreation of the main doorway of 3 Granite St.

Faith Oker and Albert Mallette for the restoration, which included retaining the wood exterior of 6 Prospect Square.

Isabel Sloane for the restoration of 141 Mt. Pleasant Ave. with special recognition to Paul Mondello who did the work.

Linda Austin and William Klosowski for the restoration and landscaping of the "Gallery on the Moors", 25 Ledge Rd.

Kathleen and Earl Cross for the restoration and painting of 4 Harrison Ave.
|
Bernadine Young for the restoration of 27 Highland St.
|
 Community Award Given to Sabine Ocker and Philip Storey, 5 Marchant St; Roberta Camhi and Eric Magers, 7 Marchant St.;Karen and Stephen Ercolani, 9 Marchant St. and John Anderson, 13 Marchant St. for restoration of their properties on the East Side of Marchant St. that gives a wonderful vista of their restored homes.

Mark Williams for his book "F/V Black Sheep"
Israel Horovitz for his various plays that depict life in Gloucester
